I have another picture to post of Alviso.  Currently, I am working on a new fiber art work incorporating my photos.  Sharing these photos is what kicked off the new project.

Today was pick up day for "Waves" at Los Altos Library.  That was a excellent exhibit and has spurred me on to create more artworks focusing on water in the Bay Area of San Francisco.

After the meal at Pasta Moon in Half Moon Bay on Thanksgiving Day.  I highly recommend this restaurant. Wonderful food and atmosphere in HMB.

Thursday, November 24, 2011

Ok, it is Thanksgiving and I am going to post the picture of the wild turkeys again!
It just seems appropriate.  Yesterday, I was reading an article in the San Francisco Chronicle about wild turkeys and the description they gave of what they might have looked like hundreds of years ago and my friends in the photo are very close. Small breast and long legs so you are seeing the real deal!

Also, I have to say from the artist view this is a great photograph.  Look at how the red runs thru the photo keeping your eye involved.  Splendid!

Off to Pasta Moon in HMB today! Yum!

Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Finally, I have a jpg. of the card from "Man as Object: Reversing the Gaze".
Exhibit runs thru November the 30th at "Man as Object: Reversing the Gaze" http://www.manasobject.weebly.com/, 943 Brannan St., SF and it has been one wild ride! Extreme amount of press.

Boxes, Boxes and more Boxes

My friend Karen Musgrave who has on her blog right now home made gift boxes she has made and they are wonderful! They also reminded me of the boxes a water color teacher I had once taught us to make using our old, unwanted or just tired of water color prints we had painted.  It is a very good way to use up those practice prints you just cannot bring yourself to get rid of. What do you think?

Alviso

Happy Family
I am adding another of the wonderful pictures I have taken at Alviso.  Recently, they finished the new boat launch and if you kayak, have a small boat or canoe do give it a try.  Definitely, our tax dollars put to good work.

Alviso

I am putting up some pictures I took recently at Alviso, a very small city north east of me.  Alviso sits on the San Francisco Bay and salt at one time maybe even now is/was harvested. Recently, I have been enjoying this pictures and have decided to use them in a fiber artwork along the same creative stream as my artwork "DAD".

Turkey Sightings

Ok, fall has definitely come to the Bay Area of California.  My daughter who lives in Roseville, Ca. sent me this picture of a "turkey sighting" coming home from Trader Joe's today.
This is not Shara's home so I have a suspicion they followed the critters until they could get a great picture of them.

"Reflections on Water"

Tonight is the opening for "Reflections on Water" at the Los Altos Library.  The exhibit is about water issues in the Bay Area of California. My artwork is titled "Pacific Waves".
The exhibit was curated by Linda Gass, and as most people know this is what Linda Gass art work is focused on. This exhibit is also in conjunction with the "Shaped by Water" exhibit at the Los Altos History Museum.

6:00-7:00 at the Library.

Calendar Blog

My friend Karen Musgrave, probably one of the most creative women I know has a entry on her blog today talking about the wonderful calendars she creates using stickers. The blog entry brought back such wonderful memories for me.  When I was a child I always looked forward to the next years calendar that my father would bring home from the feed store. The pictures were normally of rural America of which I lived in so the scenes were very familiar to me. Check out Karen's blog athttp://www.connectionsbykaren.blogspot.com

Man as Object: Reversing the GAze

This was a lot of fun last night! Packed opening reception, and I mean packed.  Being reviewed by MS Magazine and NPR helped I am sure with the attendance.
Lots of great comments and feedback on my "DAD" artwork and lots of request for photos with the work.  Mills College was in attendance accepting work into the schools permanent collection. The crowd I was with then moved on to The Cheese Cake Factory and fun and great pizza was had by all.

The show is up until November 30th at SOMArts, San Francisco, Ca. http://www.manasobject.weebly.com/
